Story of traditional pattern

Konnichiwa! Hallo everyone!

This time, I would like to tell you about "Japanese traditional patterns".

A traditional pattern called "Wagara" in Japan, which is diversified into various things such as kimono patterns and vessels.
Each Japanese pattern contains prayers and feelings.

First of all, the logo of our shop was also inspired by one of these Japanese patterns, Shippo.

Shippo means "seven treasures" that appears in Buddhist scriptures, and a pattern that connects the seven treasures also appear.
The Shippo pattern is a pattern in which circles are chained and connected forever, so we hope that the tradition will be inherited for a long time.

In our logo, the circle (ring) leads to harmony and represents the importance of harmony between people.

The red circle in the center is an image of the sun and the Hinomaru, the national flag of Japan. The name of our shop, [Akatsuki], is also related to it because the word means "dawn" in English.

We will also introduce the Japanese pattern of the Tamahagane product series.

Each amulet has a different pattern, but the Japanese pattern for smartphone rings and hair elastics are determined by the color.

"Yagasuri" for white

This is a design of the arrow feathers.
The "shooting" arrow has long been used as an auspicious pattern.

For example, if women hold a kimono with this pattern when she marry, she will not come back (will not divorce) like the shot arrow does not come back.

"Ichimatsu", a checkered pattern in the dark green of the hair elastic

The green checkered is very famous as Wagara.
It is a pattern in which squares of different colors are arranged alternately.

The name "Ichimatsu" came from the fact that Kabuki actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu in the middle of the Edo period loved the hakama of this pattern. Recently, the emblem of the Tokyo Olympics was also made based on this pattern.

Yellow elastic is "Uroko-mon"

It is a geometric continuous pattern with triangles arranged alternately. The continuous appearance of triangles is likened to the scales (uroko) of fish and snakes, and it has come to be called scales.

This was called "Rinmon" in the early modern period, and it came to be used as a pattern to prevent evil.

"Asa-no-ha" for orange and pink

A geometric pattern that uses a hemp leaf (asa-no-ha) as a motif and is associated with a regular hexagon. It is a pattern that has been used for decoration of Buddhist statues since the Heian period.

Since hemp has a strong vitality and grows straight and large, it is often used in kimono for babies and children with a prayer for growth.

The red and green of the smartphone ring is "Momiji", the autumn leaves pattern.

Autumn leaves (maple) represent "longevity".
The beautiful colors make people happy, which contains the wish to be successful and happy.

Traditional patterns have various origins and wishes!
